Avec 2023 bien entamé, c’est le moment idéal pour réévaluer vos objectifs et résolutions du Nouvel An et réfléchir à ce que vous voulez vraiment accomplir. Que votre objectif soit d’arrêter de fumer, d’améliorer vos habitudes alimentaires, de perdre du poids ou de devenir plus actif physiquement, les choses ne se déroulent pas toujours comme prévu. Parfois, nous sommes distraits et perdons notre concentration, et cela a un impact sur notre engagement à nous en tenir aux stratégies qui nous permettent d’atteindre ces objectifs. Il est également important de planifier les rechutes, afin que vous sachiez quoi faire lorsque l’énergie et l’excitation d’atteindre votre objectif s’estompent.
Une étude d’Oscarsson et ses collègues (2020) a révélé que les personnes ayant des objectifs axés sur l’approche avaient beaucoup plus de succès que celles ayant des objectifs axés sur l’évitement (58,9 % contre 47,1 %). Autrement dit, les personnes s’efforçant d’atteindre ou de maintenir un résultat souhaité étaient plus susceptibles d’atteindre leurs objectifs que celles qui s’efforçaient d’éviter ou d’éliminer un résultat indésirable. Par exemple, « Je vais faire de l’exercice pour rester fort et en forme » (axé sur l’approche) par opposition à « Je vais faire de l’exercice pour éviter les maladies cardiaques » (orienté sur l’évitement).
1 Fixez-vous des objectifs SMART
Votre objectif est-il spécifique, mesurable, réalisable, réaliste et encadré dans le temps ? Si votre objectif est vague, vous ne saurez pas si vous l’avez atteint. Par exemple, si votre objectif est de « perdre du poids », essayez de le redéfinir en « Je veux perdre 5 kg au cours des six prochains mois », puis élaborez des stratégies pour vous aider à y parvenir. Assurez-vous d’écrire votre objectif et de le garder là où vous le voyez régulièrement.
2 Penser à l’avance
Quels obstacles ou barrières pourraient surgir au cours des semaines et des mois à venir ? Réfléchissez à ce que vous voulez accomplir, mais soyez réaliste quant aux obstacles potentiels. La préparation est la clé du succès, il est donc toujours utile de planifier à l’avance et d’apporter les modifications nécessaires.
3 Demander de l’aide
Recrutez vos amis et votre famille pour vous aider à atteindre votre objectif. Cela peut inclure quelqu’un à la maison qui vous aide à préparer vos repas ou qui vous rejoint en tant que compagnon d’entraînement ou de marche. Cela aide à la responsabilisation et peut augmenter la motivation pour apporter et maintenir des changements de style de vie.
4 Essayez de documenter vos progrès
Écris le! Si vous vous efforcez de perdre du poids, notez ce que vous avez mangé, documentez la quantité d’exercice que vous faites et pesez-vous chaque mois pour suivre vos progrès. C’est un excellent visuel pour voir tout le travail acharné que vous avez fait ! Non seulement cela, mais cela donnera un aperçu de ce qui fonctionne et de ce qui ne fonctionne pas.
5 Concentrez-vous sur un objectif à la fois
Vous vous efforcez peut-être d’atteindre plusieurs objectifs de santé, mais vous devez peut-être d’abord vous concentrer sur l’objectif le plus important ? Cela pourrait être l’objectif qui aura le plus grand impact sur votre santé et votre bien-être, et qui aura probablement un impact positif sur d’autres domaines de votre vie.
6 Adoptez le processus
Faire des changements de style de vie n’est pas facile, car c’est différent et c’est un changement de routine ou d’habitude. Accepter le changement signifie que vous voulez essayer de nouvelles choses, être aventureux ou vous améliorer. Si vous manquez une journée de marche ou si vous mangez quelque chose que vous essayiez d’éviter, ne vous culpabilisez pas, recommencez le lendemain.
